The salon “chez mario” is somewhat inconspicuous on the Goliathgasse 33. The one-man business, opened in 1970. Inside there is not much space, the centerpiece is the elegant, with brown leather upholstered, chair where the now 72-year-old cuts hair. The Goliathgasse was part of his life, affirms the Italian-born Swiss Mario Salvini. There he experienced the wild 1970s and thus the heyday of the local Africana, Filou and Goliath. The Africana, or «AFF» as it was called by its visitors hosted performers such as Santana before they gained world fame. Even those who could not actively witness the wild 70s feel that many stories have been told in this place. The old craft is still celebrated today and skilfully managed.
